REDESIGNING THE FRENCH BASKETBALL DIGITAL ECOSYSTEM
The Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB) partnered with LaSource to rethink how the league engages fans, supports clubs and delivers its digital strategy. Together, we have built the foundations of a multi-year transformation: revamping the league’s digital platforms, redefining its service model and preparing the ecosystem for scalable growth.
CONTEXT
Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB) & LaSource
The LNB reached a decisive moment in its digital evolution. With the sport’s momentum rising but its digital and content ecosystem fragmented, the league needed a centralised, modern and scalable foundation to better connect fans, empower clubs and strengthen its position as an entertainment brand.
This is where LaSource stepped in. Together, we launched a multi-year transformation built on a centralised service model, beginning with two key pillars: the revamp of the league’s digital platforms and the launch of a content factory to power this and other digital channels. These initiatives are designed to elevate storytelling, increase fan engagement and establish a cohesive digital ecosystem for the years ahead.
In the sections below, we dive deeper into our approach for the two pillars.
DIGITAL PLATFORMS
Through existing platform UX reviews, interviews with LNB teams and clubs, and a technical stack assessment, we identified fan pain points, challenged priority features, and uncovered opportunities for optimisation. This allowed us to surface the structural issues blocking growth and prepare a clear case for transformation.
PHASE 1: AUDIT & CASE FOR CHANGE
We led the entire RFP process end-to-end, from drafting documentation and engaging vendors to running vendor workshops and supporting the final selection, ensuring transparency and clear communication throughout. The process focused on core platform capabilities, data and CRM integration, and optional white-label club platforms as a strategic layer for decentralised rollout.
PHASE 2: STRATEGIC THINKING & RFP
PHASE 3: ASSURING DEVELOPMENT & DELIVERY
Through design reviews and sign-offs, feature prioritisation and review, as well as testing and launch planning, our involvement ensured that development moved forward smoothly, with a clear decision-making framework and alignment between all stakeholders.
CONTENT FACTORY MODEL
DEFINED A CLEAR ROLE FOR EACH CHANNEL TO SCALE
We supported the internal teams in selecting a technology partner and managing the project, with integrated content logic and gamification across social media, owned platforms, and the club ecosystem. This approach helped drive reach and discovery, deepen engagement and conversion through the website and app, and strengthen local amplification and fan proximity.
IDENTIFIED KEY NARRATIVES TO BUILD CONTENT PILLARS
We designed and applied systematic event activations across pre-event hype and storytelling, real-time coverage and activation, and post-event amplification and content recycling. By capturing club moments and redistributing them to a national audience, we helped grow attention and generate structured, predictable audience spikes.
IMPROVED COORDINATION AND STRENGTHENED CONTENT PACKAGING
We supported the establishment of the Young Star Game as one of the most successful events by evolving its content and storytelling focus. This helped create stronger commercial value, with 6 franchised content formats sold and 5 additional recurring formats developed for sponsorship opportunities.
After building the strategy through technology, resource management, and financial mapping, we remain closely involved in turning it into reality. We support the day-to-day activation by co-building the operational foundations and operating specific tasks. This includes:
Producing video content at scale
Setting up the DAM and MAM structure
Monitoring data and performance
Leading weekly synchronisation meetings
Coordinating workflows required to operate the Content Factory Model
TASKS WE OPERATE
The initiative delivered modern platforms which enable seamless fan journeys, from discovery to ticketing to content consumption, while strengthening CRM opt-ins, user retention and future monetisation opportunities. In the two months since launch, the platforms have enabled record fan engagement levels.
This has marked a major step for the LNB toward a more unified, data-driven and club-empowered ecosystem.

Our content factory strategy drives awareness while funnelling mass public reach toward LNB’s owned platforms.
The increase in content production drove higher visibility and engagement, ultimately leading to increased website traffic. This created a measurable platform activity, such as account creations, contributing to first-party data capture.

WHAT’S NEXT?
The transformation continues with strategic initiatives designed to strengthen the LNB ecosystem:
Content Factory further execution: continuing to operate and produce content as the central engine for league-wide storytelling across all digital channels
Club enablement program: workshops, shared practices and operational support
Data & CRM expansion: deeper integrations, automation and personalisation
Digital platforms evolution: further development of platforms to maximise conversion and monetisation
Together with the LNB, we are building a future-proof digital ecosystem for French basketball.
