turfcoach joins forces with LaSource to create a winning formula for the future of turfgrass management!

LaSource is thrilled to announce the latest addition to its LeStudio portfolio: turfcoach, a technological platform based on machine learning that provides data-driven insights for turf maintenance. The German startup, based in Berlin has a vision of offering a comprehensive overview of turf conditions to groundskeepers, athletic coaches and of course, athletes themselves. LaSource, drawing upon its wide-ranging expertise, which spans from business intelligence to marketing capabilities, will provide turfcoach with a suite of proven strategic tools. These resources are aimed at fostering the growth and development of turfcoach within the European sports industry.

Christian Theil, CEO - turfcoach:

We are very happy to have convinced LaSource’s team to work with our startup and put turfgrass into the spotlight. LaSource has a remarkable track record and is filled with highly qualified experts. They share our passion for the product and the values to improve the beautiful game for everyone, making this partnership a natural fit for us.

I am confident that with LaSource by our side, we will propel sports on grass into new heights. We are looking forward to working with them to ensure turfgrass receives the recognition it deserves.

turfcoach, the innovative German startup, combines agricultural and sport sciences with the power of AI. Their journey began with the identification and recognition of the challenges faced by groundskeepers in effective management of playing surfaces. To follow, turfcoach CEO Christian Theil entered the AHEAD programme by Fraunhofer to test and develop new innovative sensor technologies that could measure turf conditions in 2021. The success of this development led to the creation of turfcoach in 2022. By understanding the current status of how football clubs manage their sports turf and surfaces, turfcoach carried out in-depth research with leading experts using innovative technologies and machine learning. Today turfcoach's technology has been featured in the Stadium innovation report by DFL and recognised by multiple international sports tech competitions.

Jean-Baptiste Alliot, CSO & CoFounder - LaSource:

We're thrilled to welcome turfcoach  to our esteemed portfolio of high-end sports tech startups. Despite being a relatively new player, their rapid success and impressive client roster underscore the undeniable value they bring to the table.
