Hubert Munyazikwiye and Philippe Souche join LaSource to lead us into a new phase of growth
The last year has been a turning point for LaSource. We have grown fast in size and in the scope of the projects we take on and the impact we are able to deliver. It’s fair to say that you can’t expand the scope of projects without onboarding the right people.
With that momentum, we’re stepping into a new phase, and it only seems right to mark it with two new faces who embody where we’re heading: Hubert and Philippe.
We wanted to give a chance to get a feel for who they are, what excites them, what inspires them, and how they see LaSource. Because for us, every new hire is a new voice that shapes the future of our team.
Let’s get to know them!
Welcome to LaSource guys! What made you join the company?
Hubert: I have started my career in the world of agencies (sports marketing agencies and more traditional advertising and digital agencies) and after moving into the corporate world for a bit, I felt like it was the right time for me to go back to my roots and I’m convinced I’m in the right place today.
Philippe: I was looking for a great opportunity in the sports industry following the end of my experience with the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games. LaSource immediately stood out to me thanks to its unique positioning in the market, the quality of its team, its strong growth, and the exciting projects ahead.
Can you tell us a bit about your background?
Hubert: I’m 39 years old, born in Rwanda but I grew up in Strasbourg with my family and did my school years there as well. I moved to the UK for my bachelor’s degree in the city of Manchester before going back to Strasbourg for my Master’s degree in Sports Marketing and Sports Management. Then moved to Paris for 11 years to start my professional career in agencies and eventually moved back to Strasbourg in 2019 where I settled with my partner and our lovely daughter.
Philippe: I’m 35 years old and I’m from Avignon, in the south of France. I had the chance to travel a lot during my studies, going to Glasgow and Athens for my master's degree. Right after my Masters degree in Sports Marketing and Sports Management at KEDGE Marseille, I moved to Paris for a few years. During this time, I had the opportunity to endorse great responsibilities as Account and Product Manager, firstly for a SAAS platform and then for Warner Bros Discovery Sports. More recently, I had the unique chance to work for the Olympic games in Paris, which I truly enjoyed.
What excites you the most about LaSource? And what will be your main focus/objective at the company?
Hubert: I am very excited about LaSource’s unique positioning in the realm of sports agencies in France, acting as a true partner to our clients while bringing unique and innovative solutions to their business challenges. Within that, I hope to contribute my passion for creativity and creative content to help our clients stand out even more and overcome their challenges.
Philippe: LaSource is uniquely positioned at the crossroads of sport, media and technology, making it an exciting place to grow and innovate. With a top-tier portfolio of global sports clients, I will have the opportunity to work on diverse and impactful missions across the industry. What truly sets LaSource apart is its high-profile board team — a group of passionate experts who bring together deep experience and forward-thinking perspectives to shape the future of sport.
If LaSource had to be compared to one professional sports team? According to you, which one would it be and why?
Hubert: Tough one, as I haven’t been with LaSource for long, but from my first days I would say that LaSource reminds me of the current Racing Club de Strasbourg football team — a young and talented squad with smart individuals in key positions, all driven by talented management who make the right decisions to steer the ship in the right direction .
Philippe: I would say Toulouse FC, as LaSource, has hired many former interns in the past and gives great opportunities and trust to young and talented people. The agency has positioned itself in a niche market as a growing competitor that is developing patiently intelligently, and with measured and smart investments.
Lastly, which is your favourite sport and who is your favourite athlete? Do tell us why!
Hubert: Definitely, my favourite sport has to be volleyball, as it is by essence the most collective team sport out there. You cannot win a point without the help and good work of your teammates. My favourite athlete (a very complicated choice) is Grant Hill, the retired NBA basketball player from the Detroit Pistons and the Orlando Magic, as he was a complete and all-around player on both ends of the court.
Philippe: I’ve always been a big fan of Tennis. Tennis, and racket sports in general, demand constant focus and unwavering dedication. Nothing original here, but Roger Federer is the GOAT (bonus points for Marat Safin and Sébastien Grosjean at the time).
