#30. IFAF - Pierre Trochet - American Football: ready for a takeoff worldwide?

In its homeland, American Football reigns supreme.

However, its international export seems limited, especially on professional level. Mainly for cultural, financial and business reasons.

Nothing is set in stone, though. Because while this sport may seem far from many cultures, it fascinates and attracts, especially Gen Z.

In this new LeCorner episode, we had the pleasure to receive Pierre Trochet, president of IFAF (International Federation of American Football) to discuss what is both his mission and passion: The development of American Football around the world.

The 36-year-old Frenchman breaks us his exciting daily stakes while insisting on the sport’s huge potential. In terms of popularity, but also of investments. As a former player, Pierre also shares his passion for the game and gives some precious entrepreneurial advice.

In this episode, we tackled :

  • Pierre’s journey, from Châteauroux to IFAF

  • What makes American Football attractive to younger generations?

  • Germany, a trailblazer in Europe

  • A sport ahead of time in terms of innovation?

  • Flag Football / American Football: what are the differences?

  • Business crossovers between Football and Soccer: a development lever?
