DESIGNING A SCALABLE FEDERATION MEDIA & D2C ROADMAP

LaSource helped PZPN redefine its media strategy by turning content into a strategic lever to rebuild fan engagement and regain control over audiences and data. We designed a future-ready, data-driven media roadmap grounded in market intelligence, international benchmarking, and trend analysis.

CONTEXT
PZPN & LASOURCE

The Polish Football Association (PZPN) looked to redefine how Polish football connects with its audiences. It recognised the need to modernise its media and content ecosystem to be able to reach new generations of fans, as well as to position itself as a digital leader among European federations.

LaSource was selected through an RFP to support this ambition by designing a future-ready media and innovation roadmap.

The collaboration began in May 2025 and focused on delivering strategic clarity, actionable pathways, and partnership opportunities for PZPN’s future media engagement.

In the sections below, we dive deeper into the four key components that we built the design strategy around and our final strategic report.

POLISH SPORTS MEDIA MARKET ANALYSIS

We looked into the Polish sports media market, including audience behaviours, consumption patterns, and economic trends. We identified key challenges and growth opportunities shaping the federation’s next strategic cycle.

BENCHMARKING & CASE STUDIES

Drew inspiration from leading federations, we provided international benchmarks illustrating how media innovation can drive fan engagement and monetisation, such as the English FA’s DTC platform, Eredivisie with ESPN and many more.

EUROPEAN TREND ANALYSIS

Leveraging Trendtracker’s insights, we analysed trends across: broadcast technology & production, fan experience & content innovation, and media rights strategy & distribution.

STRATEGIC SCENARIO ANALYSIS

Based on these findings, we modelled three strategic scenarios supported by proof-of-concept (POC) recommendations for PZPN’s media evolution.

Through this project, PZPN gained a clear and data-driven vision for the future of its media and content strategy including:

  • A structured roadmap to modernise its digital footprint and strengthen national relevance

  • Actionable frameworks for partnership, innovation, and monetisation

  • Evidence-based insights to inform board-level decisions

  • Scenarios and POCs adaptable to evolving market and fan dynamics

Our work laid the foundation for a future-proof media ecosystem, empowering PZPN to move from fragmented digital efforts to an integrated, scalable, and commercially sustainable strategy.

THE RESULT?
